(Botero Donation) Permanent collection of
art donated by Colombia’s most famous artist, Fernando
Botero. 123 of the pieces are Botero’s own works,
consisting of drawings, paintings, and sculptures. The other
85 works are from celebrated international artists such
as Picasso, Chagall, Miró, Dalí, Renoir, Matisse,
Léger, and Monet. A must see for any true art lover.

Museo Nacional de
Colombia (Colombian National Museum)
One of the oldest museums in the Americas and home
to over 10,000 artifacts from the Muisca and Tayrona
indigenous civilizations, the National Museum is a
standard stop on any Bogota city tour. Founded in
1823, this fascinating museum contains expositions
on archeology, ethnography, history, and art, displayed
in 17 permanent exhibitions in complement with various
temporary displays.

Museo del Oro (Gold Museum)
This world-class exhibition consists of over 33,000
gold pieces from all the major pre-Hispanic cultures in
Colombia. In addition to the extensive gold collection,
this renowned museum also displays a vast collection of
pottery, stone, wood, and textiles, bringing the total collection
to over 50,000 pieces. Renovated in 2004, this collection
of gold artifacts is the largest of its kind on the world,
and worth spending more than a day to fully appreciate.

Maloka Museum This interesting and quirky new museum has
over 200 displays showing advances in modern technology
and science, appealing to all ages through a hands-on
learning approach. Plus, Maloka houses South America’s
first IMAX Theater.
